RESCUED PIGS @ SGACC

PIG SECTION @ SGACC

PIG SECTION

It is commonly understood by all that pigs are associated with dirt and filth. However, at SGACC, we believe that no animal should be discriminated against regardless of how they are and the kind of environment they are used to.

At our center there is  a separate unit dedicated to the pig where we currently have a total of 30 pigs.

(PIGS RESTING IN MUD: Pigs rest in the mud because unlike other animals, they don't sweat and therefore need to cool themselves constantly)

Many a times pigs are picked up from streets or are killed on the spot by butchers for meat. Our center rescues them from various butcher houses where the pigs was ready to be slaughtered. At SGACC we have 30  pigs which have all been rescued from various places. As famously said by Winston Churchill, "I am fond of pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals."

WORDS BY PIG SECTION IN-CHARGE

The care taker of pig section, Mr.  Tyagi says:
"the main work of our shelter is to feed them two times in a day and give them medical treatment in case of any requirement. We don't get any donation from people for pigs, therefore we have to buy food from local vendors. Due to which many times there is monetary crisis."
