ABANDONED ROTTWEILER ON STREETS OF NORTH CAMPUS
~Rescue story of this abandoned rottweiler@SGACC~

People who dedicate their time to rescuing stray or abandoned dogs are probably the best kind of people! When it’s caught on pictures it definitely tugs at the heart strings.

  29th of June 2016

SGACC's motto is to render help to the voiceless
Ms.Madhu Bhardwaj

Near Khalsa College-North Campus, an old Rottweiler was spotted by Ms. Madhu who was lying on the road in this scorching heat :( Poor soul had a collar round his neck but there was no sign of his owner nearby.

Ms Madhu soon realized that the poor dog has been abandoned by its owner. She told us that the dog was scared and restless, running around thirsty and hungry.  To rescue it Ms Madhu fed him and gave water after which our ambulance was able to rescue this dog around 5 pm.

Finally this sweet dog was rescued and given a second chance. It is temporarily housed at SGACC, Raja garden, Delhi but we are looking for a lovable home for this energetic and friendly dog! You can contact Me at 9654080963 or Ms. Ambika Shukla at 09810054077.

ADOPTION ALERT !!

Our latest rescue is up for adoption ! We are raising awareness on how life of abandoned dogs at the shelter leaves them broken heart and depressed. If given a proper home this dog will surely become your best pal and will be a great guard dog!

SGACC faces several such cases of abandoned dogs everyday. Some are left at our gates and some are simply given to us as community service! This is not only shocking but also a death sentence for the dog. The poor dog is not only left to fend for itself on the streets but also die because of loneliness and depression.

7 YEAR OLD ROTTWEILER GETTING TREATED AT SGACC

A senior dog is the best thing that can happen to anyone! They are not only trained but are also wise at reading the habits of people. Animal shelters and rescue centers around the world have put countless volunteer hours into helping abused and homeless animals like these find loving homes. Animals on the street, especially if they are of a showier breed that needs regular hygienic care, lead very difficult lives.

Note: Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre (SGACC) is India's oldest and Delhi's largest all-animal shelter. It was founded in 1980 which currently houses more than 2000 animals. The animals are rescued, treated and rehabilitated by SGACC. We render help to the speechless and our Motto is NEVER SAY NEVER.

Matthew Scully rightly said
“Animals are more than ever a test of our character, of mankind’s capacity for empathy and for decent, honorable conduct and faithful stewardship. We are called to treat them with kindness, not because they have rights or power or some claim to equality, but in a sense because they don’t; because they all stand unequal and powerless before us.”
